Second Anniversary

July 11-12 2009

We went to Santa Barbara for two days one night to celebrate our second anniversary. As traffic was everywhere, it took us three hours to arrive the destination. First, we visited the French Festival and had our lunch there. A reporter took a picture of me when I was posting for  KS to take my picture. Here is the picture:

After that, we checked-in at the hotel and had a nice walk at the relaxing West Beach. I really wished I could swim in the beach, but seemed like the water was so cold. I guessed that's why no one was swimming. Then, we had our dinner in a french restaurant. It was a warm and homey place. The entrees were fantastic.

On the second day, we drove to the romantic East Beach and took some pictures there. After checking-out, we visited the Mission. It was a chapel and we were there for the Sunday Mass. I loved the scenery outside the chapel. It was up on a hill and a large piece of grassland in front of the chapel. I wished I could stay there longer.

Before we headed back to LA, we shopped around at the downtown and had my favorite McConnell's Ice Cream again.

Goodbye Santa Barbara! Goodbye McConnell's!

BUSY

I'm doing an autism certificate in summer which I am required to take 4 courses. On my first class, I found out that almost all of my classmates had training and knowledge in special needs education. They are either current special education teachers, doing master or credential in special education. For me, I have no idea about special education, not even the basic terms. Also, most students take only 2 classes each quarter. Therefore, I have to work super hard to pick up on the foundational knowledge and work on my autism classes. I am doing fieldwork in a special education school. The teacher told me that the students with autism are the most difficult to handle in a special education class. She wondered why the college allowed me to study the autism certificate without any previous knowledge and take all the four classes in one quarter. Haha... I don't know if I am the lucky one or not!!!
